Weekly Trash Collection - Black Bin
Every Thursday
What time? Household garbage must be put inside the city-provided (Black) container which should be placed at the curb between 6 pm the day before and 7 am on the scheduled collection day.
Where to Place Your Bin? The container must be accessible to the automated collection truck and not blocked by obstacles, including parked cars/trees, mailboxes, fencing, etc... Blocked containers will not be picked up.
Remove containers from the curb line and public view by 10:00 p.m. on the day

About Yard Waste
Yard Trimmings, grass clippings, small branches, and leaves must not be placed in the automated garbage cans. They must be in city-approved compostable bags not weighing more than 50 pounds and placed at the curb 3 feet away from the automated container for separate yard trimmings collection.
Branches
Small branches may be put in bundles as long as each bundle is less than 4 feet in length and 18 inches in diameter and weighing less than 50 pounds
Don't Mix!
Yard Trimmings mixed with paper, plastic, or any other types of waste will not be collected.
Work performed by a contractor must be removed by the contractor.
Community Garden Compost
Willowmeadows Baptist Church 4300 West Bellfort has a community garden for our local food pantry.
Your compost material (grass clippings and leaves) would be welcome any time of the year.
The garden is located next to the church.
Drop off your bagged grass and leaves where they store the compost.
Recycling
Curbside collection - items are collected and placed in the green bin and placed at the curb approximately 3 feet from the black trash collection bin.
What Can I Recycle?
Newspapers, magazines, and other plastics #1- #5 and #7, aluminum, tin cans, and glass. Keep your recyclables clean for easy processing.
What About Glass?
YES, glass is now allowed in the recycle bins.

Heavy Trash / Junk Waste
"Junk Waste" is used to describe items such as furniture, appliances, and other bulky materials.
When? 3rd Wednesday (Even Months)
These items should be placed adjacent to the front curb, in an easily accessible to the collection vehicle between the hours of 6:00 pm Friday before, and 7:00 am on the scheduled day of collection.
How Much Can I Put Out?
No more than eight cubic yards per residence will be collected on the scheduled tree/junk waste collection day. Of this amount, only a maximum of four cubic yards of building shingles, brick, plaster, or concrete generated by the resident in connection with the maintenance of the residential property may be collected by department personnel.
Tree Waste
When? 3rd Wednesday (Odd Months)
"Tree Waste", which consists of tree limbs, branched or stumps are acceptable. Lumber, furniture, and treated wood will not be accepted.
