Security Patrol 

Precinct 287 Civic Association security patrol began in 1981.

We contract with Houston Police Department Officers to staff our security program.  Vacation and Special Watches are furnished to households that pay security patrol fees.

 

Officer Craig Thompson is our lead security patrolman and has been with the Association more than 25 years.

 

Reporting a crime:

1.Our security patrol coverage is not 24 hours per day, and has an intentionally varied schedule throughout the week. There is no direct security number to summon an officer.

1. If you are in immediate danger, or see a crime in progress, call 911. ALL OF OUR PATROL OFFICERS ARE HPD. IF THEY ARE ON SHIFT THEY WILL BE ALERTED TO THE 911 CALL AND BE THE FIRST TO ARRIVE. If they are not patrolling that day, HPD will dispatch an officer as usual.

2. If you have a non emergent crime to report, call the non emergency HPD number (713) 884-3131. 

3. If you are the victim of ANY crime, if you have general security concerns, or to speak to Officer Thompson, please send a message to the Board through the contact form on this website. A board member will respond and assist you. Your safety and security as a resident of this neighborhood are extremely important.
